One hundred names,
read aloud, one at a time

Every year since 2013, a class of one hundred men and a class of one hundred women have been called to a stage one name at a time, in front of the people who raised them. A portion of what each night raises supports scholarships for graduating seniors headed to college.

Founded in Connecticut.
Established in Virginia.

Founded in Connecticut by June Archer, and established in Virginia by Sean and Coretta Monts, the goal is to provide financial support for programs that support the advancement of young men and women of color.

A portion of the proceeds from these events supports scholarships for young men and women who graduate from high school and plan on attending college, along with leadership and mentorship programs.

There is no shortlist and no runner-up. One hundred people are selected and all one hundred walk. Nominations come from the community, which is why the classes look the way they do: a member of Congress seated beside a barber, a hospital president beside a high school coach, nobody ranked above anybody.

Honorees are recognized for work in business, entrepreneurship, education, government and service, and for the impact they have made on the lives of people in their communities. One member of each class speaks on behalf of the other ninety-nine.

How it works

One hundred honored
every year, in each chapter

Two black tie ceremonies a year in each chapter, a scholarship fund that has run since the first night, an awards ceremony for eighth grade boys, and thirteen years of classes who now come back as mentors and sponsors.
